Oi!

Oi! I’m Carolina, an award-winning children’s book illustrator and a visual development artist from north of Brazil based in London, UK.

I began my career in the fashion industry as a print & pattern designer, but somewhere along the line, my sketchbooks — which were quietly overflowing with quirky characters — decided it was time to stage a takeover.

I’ve studied character design at Pictoplasma Academy (Germany), Visual Development Art at IDEA Academy (Italy), Costume Design with the amazing Phil Boute Jr. (USA), and recently wrapped up the Pathways into Picture Books course with (Pop-up.org/UK).

I work full-time as a children’s book illustrator and eventually as a visual development artist/concept artist.. I’m proudly represented by Christie Megill at The Cat Agency, and my art has travelled the globe to collaborate with wonderful clients like Disney Hyperion, Scholastic, Netflix and BBC.

At the heart of everything I do is a love for creating diverse, playful, and deeply heartfelt art. I’m always looking forward for the next big creative adventure, and my biggest one yet is officially underway as I take the leap into the world of becoming an author-illustrator.
